Anger, hate, pain, love, hope,
It always ends the same
Each of us is a pawn
In life's chess game
There are choices to decide
And many chances to take
When protecting what's precious
You can't make a mistake
You can build up your defenses
But they will be broken
Your opponent takes everything
And your treasure is his prize token
There will be many losses
But someone must win
Your opponent smirks and waits

My eyes well up
A tear runs down my cheek
Quickly wiped away
